According to the US Animal Health Association, Karen is considered to be infected with the deadly disease, and she was subsequently denied entry into the state of Tennessee. April 16, 2007: A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission captive wildlife inspection report noted that Ringling’s breeding compound in Polk City, which housed 30 elephants, was still under a tuberculosis watch.
